Random pt. II

Just went out to give the printout of yesterdays work to the lady. I wasn't too sure if she'd actually be there (although we had made out a 'date'). But the more I advanced towards the spot where I got to know her, the more I made out her outline. Her shape which by then I already knew so well. I was certain she'd be it. So I stopped as soon as I was able to see her clearly. This was about 5cm in front of her face. I didn't wear my glasses. At first she did not even notice me. Looking down, she seemed completly unconscious of me beeing right in front of and her nearly stepping on her shoes.

So I made a little...'hmm,hmm'

She immediatly looked up and I could see the film passing behind her eyes about our last encounter. Her eyes fell on the printed picture which I held in my right hand. I handed it to her without saying nothing. She didn't say anything herself. She just gazed at that, which was now of her belongings. I... left.
The one time I looked back she was still curiously looking at the picture I only had given to her. Seeming content and also a little baffled that I actually came back.

All in all we spend about 3minutes together. I believe the picture will last a bit more.





Thanks to the super posh infrastructure in my uni, this print is made on hanemühler 260g/m2 paper.
That makes it all. The paper.

Burger Time

Random

I was just sitting in burger king (of all places) when I noticed
this female beggar outside. She immediatly caught my attention
with this remarkable face of hers. So I left my cola be in peace,
got up and went to have a chat with her.
Turns out that she was actually really friendly and hitting the good
old jokes in spanish (which I didn't get at all) and apart from that mentally totally
clear and fully aware of her situation and her surroundings.

So, I told her that I didn't have any money to give to her because I don't happen
to be richest guy around town myself but instead I could take a picture now,
print it out in uni and give it to her tomorrow.

This happend about an hour ago.
I'll tell you if she like'd it tomorrow.

Long time, no see.

I have been pretty occupied the last couple of months.
And due to the robbery of my camara in January wasn't able to work for quite
a while. However, last month I gathered up all my pennies and coins
(and a lot of insurance money..thank you) and finally bought myself a brand new
second hand camara. The following is mostly recent work.
You will also find some stuff from winter which was lungering around on my hard drive.
Love that word...hard....drive.

Paris, paris.

My first time in the french capital....voulez vous?
Thanks to my dear friend Eyjafjallajökull I was allowed
to extend my stay for some days.

Andalucia

In April we went to Andalucia for a couple of days. Beeing six of us
we rented a huge Berlingo and hit the road towards the south.
Granada, Sevilla and a quick stop in Córdoba got a bit of heat into us.

Competition.

The other day I took part in a photo competition
about Valencian infrastructure. There was no post-production to be used
and you had to be a fully enrolled student at the Universidad Polytécnica de Valencia.
The last part gladly fulfilled my friend here, Bacha. Thanks again.










































Please don't ask me why, but this picture actually won. I believe
it's one of the worst and we were actually just about not to hand it in. But
now it's worth 300€...thanks anyway.





Las Fallas

In March they have this really strange festival here.
For three weeks, day by day, in a very 'subtle' manner the Fallas
(huge wooden puppets)are being celebrated and finally get burned
on the last day.

For this time the whole city seems to be cut off from the rest of the world.
Valencian people are very proud of their culture and this peaks
in a fiesta which I, for my part, have never experienced before.
Fire, noise and 'locura'.
